Transport

 

In the R&D&i sector of Transport, we have participated in over 80 programmes and projects, whether leading or as a part of consortiums of companies and organisations. The common denominator of these programmes and projects is the development of tomorrow’s Air Transport and Other Modes of Transport as well.

Isdefe contributes primarily to the development of operational concepts, as well as in phases involved in defining architecture, specifications, validation, and implementation, taking into account at each phase the security requirements and analysis needed to handle safety cases.

The European Policy for Research and Development in Air Transport is implemented through the Innovation and Technology Development Framework Programmes, promoted by the European Commission of the European Union; programmes derived from EUROCONTROL and European Space Agency strategies. Other Modes of Transport include transportation by road, rail, ship and urban modes, both of passengers and of freight. Isdefe also participates in R&D projects at a national level financed by Spanish funds and organisations.

Information Security

 








In its commitment to invest in knowledge of the latest security trends, Isdefe participates in various Research, Development andlogotipo proyecto "Segura" seguridad y confianza en la sociedad de la información Innovation activities like the Seguridad2020 project, Proyecto Singular Estratégico (PSE)(Singular Strategic Project) cofinanced by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce, which aims to define and secure digital territories; the SEGUR@ consortium, CENIT project co-financed by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce, in which Isdefe handles the primary activity “Risk analysis and crisis simulation technologies”; or the EUSECON consortium, a project cofinanced by the FP7 of the European Commission, that focuses on knowledge of security economics.

Furthermore, Isdefe works with important European and international organisations, leaders in R&D for information security, such as: the European Network and Information Security Agency (ENISA), the European Security Research and Innovation Forum (ESRIF) and NATO’s Cooperative Centre for CyberDefence Excellence in Tallin, Estonia, among others.

Our participation in the R&D&I sector is motivated by one of our core values at Isdefe: anticipating our clients’ needs. As a result, our current R&D&I projects are:

  • VIRTUOSO: Open Source Intelligence.
  • SEDUCE: Infrastructure Protection Tools critical in facing threats involving explosives.
  • INTEGRA: Improving regulated and unregulated border management.

These projects are financed in part by R&D budgets at Isdefe, and by CDTI on national R&D projects, or by the European Commission through Technological Research and Development Framework Programmes.
