Operational Logistics

Operational Logistics refers to Isdefe's capabilities in the area of operations, be it in domestic or foreign soil (deployments). Operational Logistics involves specific demands and a fundamental component is Supply Chain Management, which also has its peculiarities when applied to Operational Logistics.

Operational Logistics involves planning, defining, and implementing the supply chain for a mission, which includes the material and information process flows that are generated in an organisation, both internally and externally through suppliers and clients.

For over 20 years Isdefe has been providing Supply Chain Management, primarily in logistics for Armament systems for the Defence Ministry, and for the past 10 years Isdefe has been supporting the Armed Forces in the definition of its Operational Logistics for deployment on peace missions (Afghanistan, Lebanon, Chad, etc.)

Four years ago Isdefe began supporting the UN with Operational Logistics in its peace missions and currently has, for the first time, personnel deployed (18 people) to an area of conflict (Darfur). For this deployment, Isdefe has also developed its own necessary Logistics.

  • Afghanistan 2007 – Support the Sponsorship of a Unit of the Afghan National Army
  • Chad 2008 – Multi-logistical solution for the UN
  • NY-Lebanon 2008-2009: Consulting on logistics for fuel and acquisition of vehicles and armoured vehicles
  • Sudan 2009-2010 – Consulting in the area of operations for managing the peace mission in Darfur

The support provided to the UN in its Darfur Mission is the most complete yet; it includes all aspects of Logistical Operations.

  • Logistical mission planning, including site surveys
  • Management of projects, supplies, and services in the Area of Operations
