Activities in the realm of Transport Systems and Operations involve the provision of systems engineering and technological consulting services to support transport service providers.

In the Air Transport market, Isdefe supports Spanish Airports and the Air Navigation Authority (Aena) in the systems engineering of Automated Air Traffic Control Systems (SACTA), focused on supporting the evolution and exploitation of the system. Among other activities, Isdefe also supports Aena in activities related to the introduction of satellite navigation systems in civil aviation, the acquisition of information systems (radars, flight plans, communications, meteorological information, etc.) and the related support needed to bring the service online, guaranteeing efficient and safe air traffic control.

Isdefe also stands at the technological forefront of incorporating new operational concepts and technologies applicable to Air Traffic Management Systems (ATM). The primary objective of our activities is to incorporate the new concepts and tools to the ATM in order to respond to the anticipated increase in air traffic over the coming decades, and to augment levels of air traffic security. Other objectives are the harmonizing and the interoperability of ATM systems at a European level through active participation in the work groups and projects created to that end in the SESAR setting.
