ISDEFE

Isdefe's capabilities in Weapons Systems are based around the support and technical assistance provided to the Programme Offices of the armed forces, either for specific arms systems, or for specific platforms for aerial, ground, and naval forces which incorporate these weapons systems as part of their equipment.

Separated by organisation, below is a list of the most noteworthy programmes that Isdefe is currently supporting:

Army

Isdefe collaborates with the Army in the determination of Arms and Munitions Systems, both in Research and Development programmes and in procurement programmes. Isdefe provides technical engineering support throughout the system’s life cycle for systems like the combat vehicle (Leopardo), 155/52 SIAC shells, long-range 105mm and 155mm artillery munitions, Vulcano guided munitions, armoured infantry combat vehicles (Pizarro), VCI/C, Centauro, combat helicopters (Tigre), transport helicopters (Chinook, Cougar, and Superpuma), self-defence suites of various helicopters, Patriot missiles, Spike anti-vehicle missile, Skydor antiaircraft guided weapons, Arthur radars, unmanned aerial vehicles (PASI) and other sensors related to weapons systems like SIPNAP.

In addition, Isdefe is providing technical support to the programme offices of systems for the coordination and command and control of weapons systems, like COAAAS the antiaircraft artillery or the CIO-CPL, as well as for various simulators for these weapons systems.

Navy

In addition to the support provided to the OP S-80 to oversee the production of this class of submarines, Isdefe is also actively involved in the production of their Platform and auxiliary systems, like the Integrated Platform Control System, and in developing the Combat System which, in addition to the sensor systems controls (electronic warfare, sonars, radars, communication and navigation systems), controls the specific weapons systems (sea-to-land missiles, Harpoon, torpedoes, and combat mines).

Air Force

Isdefe has been supporting the programme offices of EF2000, A400M and METEOR, for management, administration, and control, in the national and international realm since the inception of these programmes.

In the EF2000, European combat aircraft programme office, Isdefe is collaborating to bring the second production lot to the fore, participating throughout the national and international process of plane delivery and acceptance. With regards to the third production lot, Isdefe is collaborating to define the technical, operational and logistical requirements, in addition to supporting the negotiation and establishment of contracts.

In the A400M programme office, Isdefe is collaborating to establish and define the technical, operational, and logistical requirements, as well as in monitoring and assessing compliance with industrial commitments.

Isdefe provides technical support to the METEOR, air-to-air missile beyond visual range, programme primarily by managing changes to the MoU, providing financial administration, logistical requirements, administering technical developments, tracking milestones and deliverables, and integration into the EF2000.

Defence

Isdefe also collaborates with training centres and different Defence Ministry technological departments related to ballistics, the detection and neutralization of explosives, fire control software and other matters related to weapons systems, their effects and protection against them. Furthermore, we collaborate with the Technology Branch and Centres of the DGAM in prospecting and planning, collaborating with various international work groups, as well as with NATO-affiliated international organisations and the European Defence Agency (EDA).
