Information and Communications Technology (ICT)

 

The services offered by Isdefe in the area of Information and Communications Technology and The Information Society in Spain are primarily divided into three broad areas:

  • Planning and management of the electromagnetic spectrum
  • Information Society
  • Rules and Regulations

 
Planning and management of the electromagnetic spectrum

 

Collaboration with the State Office for Telecommunications and for The Information Society in the planning of broadcasting services, analogue and digital, as well as the development of the Infrastructures Plan at a national level. Support to international relations with organisations like the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and the European Union, and analysis of the international prospective in radio-communications services and spectrum management.

Isdefe also provided technical help and support to the National Office of Transition to Digital Terrestrial Television in the management of the National Transition Plan. Involvement in Planning, monitoring, communication and agent coordination.

 
The Information Society

 

Collaboration with the State Office for Telecommunications and for The Information Society in the promotion and implementation of electronic management services to support the Central Government as well as local agencies, under the AVANZA programme.

Technical assistance for the management of the National Programme for Broadband Coverage in Rural and Isolated Areas of the State Office for Telecommunications and for the Information Society.

Collaboration with the National Communications Technologies Institute (INTECO) on the Strategic Planning Study and in the Technical Prototype Office for the launching of the National Centre for Accesibility Technologies.

 
Rules and Regulations

 

Consulting and technical assistance for the Telecommunications Market Commision in the following areas:

  • Advice on strategic and operational regulation models and application of thesectoral regulation and competition norms.
  • Technical and economic model design for regulated services costing and for conducting regulatory measures feasibility analysis
  • Economic regulation: analysis and assessment of regulatory costing systems, standards-costs in different historical and current fully distributed, long run incremental cost -, audits and result verification of the regulatory costing systems.
  • Competition Analysis: identifying and defining markets, product market and geographic market.
    Regulatory function support: application design, procedures and indicators to obtain information, interpretation and sector reporting.
