Corporate Social Responsibility
Isdefe bases all its policies, procedures and management actions on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) criteria, considering the impact its activities have on clients, the workforce, stakeholders, local communities, the environment and society in general. The company promotes and seeks to ensure that all these relationships respect the principles of CSR.
In 2009 Isdefe joined the United Nations Global Compact initiative. This is an international initiative that promotes companies’ commitment to abide, in their strategies and daily operations, by the ten basic principles of conduct and action in human rights, work, the environment and the fight against corruption. This initiative seeks, through the generation of global corporate citizenship, to reconcile the demands of civil society, the third sector, labor unions and educational institutions with the interests and processes of Business.
As part of its commitment to transparent and socially responsible management, Isdefe features a Code of Conduct applying to all of its employees and containing a series of action guidelines pertaining to different areas, such as respect for human rights, ethical values, people, professional development and the environment, among other aspects.
Quality
As part of its commitments to quality and excellence for its clients, Isdefe features a Quality System that is tailored to the requirements of the domestic as well as the international markets. This Quality Management System is the result of thoughtful reflection which has led to special plans, goals, actions and follow-up.
Isdefe currently holds the following accreditations:
- UNE-EN ISO 9001: 2008 (ER-0929/1998) Quality Management System certified by AENOR.
- PECAL/AQAP 2110 (file no. 0077/03/01/01) Quality Management System certified by the Ministry of Defence for engineering consulting and technical assistance services for the Ministry of Defence.
- UNE-EN ISO 14001 (GA-2007/0113) Environmental Management System certified by AENOR.
- UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17020 (no. 180/EI331), accredited by ENAC (accreditation no. 180/EI331), for type-C inspection activities involving Air Navigation.

Environmental commitment
Isdefe, cognizant of the growing environmental problem and in support of sustainable development, demonstrates its commitment by implementing an Integrated Management System compliant with the UNE-EN ISO 14001, certified by AENOR, which promotes the efficient use of available natural resources, the prevention of contamination, and waste management in ways that are respectful of the environment.
Isdefe is conscious that throughout the execution of its activities and with regards to its products and the rendering of its systems engineering technical consulting services, it needs to foster environmentally responsible conduct leading to the protection of natural resources.
As part of its environmental policy, Isdefe is committed to the following:
- Complying with environmental laws applicable to our activities, as well as with those environmental commitments agreed to with clients.
- Identifying and evaluating environmental aspects stemming from our activities so as to prevent negative environmental impacts.
- Properly handling any waste generated by reusing, separating and recycling it.
- Promoting energy efficiency, making the best use of available resources.
- Promoting the environmental awareness of every employee through the establishment of good environmental practices in the workplace.
- Establishing a process of constant improvement in our environmental behavior by periodically reviewing our EMS and the environmental objectives and goals that are established.
- The company is committed to promoting and disseminating this Policy among Isdefe employees, partners, subcontractors and suppliers, and making it available to interested parties.
