Isaac Domínguez, Isdefe's Space and Technological Centres Director, and Ildefonso Vera Gómez, Innovation, Processes and Transformation Manager in Isdefe's Business Development department took part in the Space Science Experience Awards Ceremony held on 28 June at the Madrid Planetarium

In 2015, Cooperation through Education in Science and Astronomy Research (CesaR) launched the "Space Science Experience" programme for primary and secondary school students; a "scientific experience" solving an Astrophysics puzzle guided by "Space experts".

On June 22 the Foundation for Military Arts and Sciences organized a videoconference under the theme "The Application of 5G Technologies and Services to the Defence Sphere", moderated by Isdefe engineers Mr. Guillermo González Muñoz, in charge of the technological prospecting area; and Mr. Álvaro Cañas Arranz, both in Industrial Technological Management.

5G is the new wireless communications technology for the transmission of data between devices and other types of systems with an Internet connection.

On 9 June, the city of Córdoba hosted the 2nd Workshop for companies on the technological project of the Army Logistics Base, in which engineer Santiago Adán, from Isdefe's Department of Consulting and Strategic Management Processes, participated.

The event was inaugurated by the rector of the University of Córdoba, Mr José Carlos Gómez Villamandos, and by the Chief of Staff of the Army, General Francisco Javier Varela Salas.

The awards for the 6th edition of the Isdefe R&D programme to gather and manage R&D ideas were presented  on 2 June.

The event, held from the Isdefe assembly hall with the minimum number of attendees and all the measures recommended by health authorities, was broadcast live on the YouTube social network https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSqI9NUp1sQ

More than 150 specialists and scientists from the Space sector exchanged their knowledge and experiences at the virtual seminar held on May 20 and 21, under the theme "Strategic Activities in the Space Sector".

The participating organizations - Isdefe, INTA, Hisdesat and CONIDA (Peruvian Space Agency) - shared lessons learned in the execution of their projects, as well as their visions of the future regarding the social benefits that such organizations can provide through the use of space.

Isdefe took part in the webinar on “Geospace intelligence in support of the decision-making process in the European Union”, which was held on Wednesday, 12 May and was organised by the Ministry of Defence’s General Directorate of Armament and Materiel, in concert with the European Union’s Satellite Centre (SatCen) and the Rumanian Ministry of Defence.

The event considered the geospace capabilities and technologies that the European Union will need over the next 5 to 10 years for its decision-making processes.

Elena Fernández and Ángel Cerada took centre stage at the presentation of the Defence and Security Chair of the Isdefe Horizons Network as the winners of the best Master’s and Undergraduate theses.

The event was held virtually on Thursday, 15 April, and featured, in addition to the recipients, Mr Félix Pérez, Director of the Advanced School of Telecommunications Engineering at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (ETSIT-UPM) and Mr Mateo Burgos, Director of the Isdefe-UPM chair in Defence and Security.

On Wednesday, 14 April, the Tragsa Group held an online conference on in-house technical service providers that featured numerous experts from academia and the Public Administration, as well as representatives from other in-house providers, including Mr Francisco Quereda, the CEO of Isdefe, and Mr Jesús Alonso, Director of Business Development.

The conference included two round tables: “Legal regime, need and raison d’être of in-house technical service providers” and “Challenges of in-house technical service providers”.

On July 28, 2020, the Supervisory Council of the NATO Communications and Information Organization approved the first Not-For-Profit Framework programme (NFP) with the aim of complementing the cooperation and contracting frameworks between the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) and industry by establishing a new model for cooperation between the NCIA and not-for-profit organisations.
