From 1 to 3 September, the 13th seminar on "Satellites as a key element for security, defence and government applications", in which Isdefe took part, was held in Santander.
The seminar covered an agenda that played out over a series of conferences and round tables focused on space issues of relevance to the Spanish space industry, the Armed Forces and the Administration within the national scenario and the European context.
Admiral Teodoro Esteban López Calderón, Chief of the Defence Staff (JEMAD), inaugurated the seminar and gave way to the conferences and round tables, which were held during the three-day event and covered issues such as the challenges of the Spanish Industry and the Next Generation Funds, Spain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAEC) and the space strategy in the EU, the national strategy in the European GNSS, the space programmes of the DGAM (Directorate General of Armaments and Matériel), and which featured presentations by the General Secretary of Transport, Mobility and the Urban Agenda, the General Director of Armament and Matériel, and the General Director of INTA.
Francisco Quereda, Isdefe's CEO, along with other industry representatives and officials, took part in the round table on "The industrial and Defence Space sectors in the post-covid era", moderated by Mr Pedro A. Fuster González, Deputy Director General of Inspection, Regulation and Defence Industrial Strategy at the DGAM, who focused his remarks on the need to align initiatives within the European framework, and make an effort that allows the sector to maintain the position and knowledge gained.
At the round table on "Challenges facing the Spanish industry as a result of the new community MFF (2021-2027)", it was Jesús Alonso, Director of Business Development, who spoke on behalf of Isdefe and explained the need for collaboration between the administration and industry to leverage the gains made in the areas of recovery, transformation and resilience. The round table was moderated by Major General Antonio Planells Palau, Deputy to the General Director of Armament and Matériel (DIGAM).
