On 3 December, the Ministry of Defence, through the General Sub-Directorate of Industrial Inspection, Regulation and Strategy, in concert with the AEC Committee on Defence Industries and Services, organised the 1st Gathering of National Defence Sector Industries as Isdefe’s headquarters.
The gathering accomplished its goal of advertising the Strategy of the PECAL/AQAP Certification Scheme in response to the challenge of Industry 4.0, and provided a summary of the activities of the Combined Committee on Defence-Armament and Materiel Industries (CMDIN), as well as of its regulatory developments in 2019.
Attendees to the meeting were welcomed by Lluis Vinagre Solans, Isdefe’s Marketing Manager of Business Development Directorate, Mr Pedro A. Fuster, Deputy Director of Inspection, Regulation and Strategy of the Defence Industry, Industrial Inspections Division SDGINREID/DGAM of the Ministry of Defence, and Mr Avelino Brito, Managing Director of the Spanish Association for Quality (AEC).
Mr Pedro A. Fuster was tasked with presenting the Strategy of the PECAL/AQAP Certification Scheme in response to the challenge of Industry 4.0 during the first part of the gathering. Then, in the second part, Ms Virginia Muñoz, head of the Quality Engineering Unit, Office of Industrial Inspections SDGINREID/DGAM of the Ministry of Defence, discussed quality assurance in the defence sector, along with the structure and activities of the PECAL Certification Scheme through the CMDIN (Combined Committee on Defence and Industry).
At the end of the gathering, and as part of the agenda, the 120th Plenary Meeting of the AEC Committee on Defence Industries and Services was held.
