The 20th Workshop of the Enaire Foundation’s Aeronautical Historical Studies is underway

The 20th Workshop of the Enaire Foundation’s Aeronautical Historical Studies begins today.

The Secretary of State for Infrastructure, Transport and Housing, Julio Gómez-Pomar, is opening the workshop. Under the slogan “Remotely-piloted aircraft: from UAVs to drones”, this gathering will bring together professionals, institutions and academics from the aviation industry from October 25th to the 27th.

Carlos Regidor, Manager of the Transport Quality and Testing Dept. at Isdefe, will take part with a presentation on “The use of drones in controlled airspace”, in which he will speak about the SESAR DEMORPAS R&D project, the most ambitious work on integrating RPAs into unsegregated airspace in Spain.

The DEMORPAS Project, part of the SESAR (Single European Sky ATM Research) programme, was spearheaded by Isdefe as part of a consortium that included Enaire, CRIDA, FADA-CATEC, Inta and Spain’s Air Force.

This forum provides an opportunity to exchange know-how and prepare responses to the challenges facing this strategic industry, namely the use of airspace by rapidly evolving remotely-controlled aircraft. Isdefe is heeding the call for innovation by developing procedures and methods in the field and by leading initiatives, such as the SESAR DEMORPAS R&D Project.
