The COIAE holds congress on European Airworthiness Regulation

The Official Association of Spanish Aeronautical Engineers (COIAE) has organised a congress on “Recognition of the EMAR regulation in Europe and current status in Spain”, which will be held on 10 February at the Spanish Institute of Engineering.

This congress will discuss the European Military Airworthiness Requirements (EMAR) and their implementation. EMAR specifies the administrative procedures that the Military Airworthiness Authority must observe in the performance of its duties and responsibilities.

Miguel Ángel Palomo, Project Chief in Isdefe’s Programme Processes and Methodology Department, will discuss with other professionals the “Responsibilities of Authorities in the process of implementing PERAM”. The implementation of a common airworthiness regulation will facilitate the process for authorities to recognise airworthiness and will make for simpler and more streamlined international aviation certification procedures.

This process affects the military, specialised industry and the Ministry of Defence. This ministry’s involvement goes beyond the Spanish Publication of Airworthiness Requirements (PERAM), since the Ministry of Defence itself has taken steps to comply with the implementation of the EMAR.

The Dean of the Official Association of Spanish Aeronautical Engineers, Estefanía Matesanz, will be tasked with opening this congress.
