February 11 International Day of Women and Girls in Science

17 Isdefe professionals have arranged for more than 20 talks at different educational centres across the Community of Madrid as part of the "February 11 Initiative", a platform that showcasing the role of women in science and fostering scientific vocations among youth, thereby supporting the commemoration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.

16 women engineers from Isdefe and one man will give these talks on these dates around February 11, which the United Nations has declared the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, whose aim is to break down the barriers that women and girls encounter in the scientific spheres, and inspire and promote scientific and technological, or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) careers.

Through this activity Isdefe reaches 1,000 pre-school, primary and secondary education boys and girls, fostering, from an early age, women's access to the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics through our professionals' experience.

Isdefe volunteers, men and women alike, contribute to the achievement of two vital Sustainable Development Goals forming part of the 2030 Agenda: education and gender equality.
