This Friday, November 25, the rector of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM), Guillermo Cisneros Pérez, and the Director of the Advanced Centre for National Defence Studies (CESEDEN), Lieutenant General Francisco de Paula Bisbal Pons, presented Francisco Quereda Rubio the "Honorary Award of the General Antonio Remón Zarco del Valle Engineering Chair".
The jury responsible for deciding the awards of the 7th edition of the " General Antonio Remón Zarco del Valle Engineering Chair" at the Polytechnic University of Madrid and the Advanced Centre for National Defence Studies unanimously decided to present the honorary award of the Chair to Mr Francisco Quereda Rubio for his brilliant professional career in the defence and security sector and for his unwavering support to the promotion and development of activities in said field in the academic world, and at the Polytechnic University of Madrid in particular.
Francisco Quereda accepted this Honorary Award during the presentation ceremony of this seventh edition, which took place in the assembly hall at the UPM. These awards recognise the work done by UPM professors, researchers and students on technological issues related to defence and security.
In 2007, the Ministry of Defence and the Polytechnic University of Madrid first signed the partnership agreement that created the "General Antonio Remón y Zarco del Valle" Chair of Defence Studies, which Isdefe has collaborated with since its inception by playing a key role in the summer courses organised by the UPM year after year.
Francisco Quereda, Isdefe's CEO since 2012, has been the General Director of Aeronautics at INECO, General Director of Aeronautical Services at AENA DESARROLLO INTERNACIONAL, Director of Air Navigation, Director of Air Traffic and Director of the Air Navigation Office at AENA, President and CEO of SENASA, as well as a project manager at Isdefe and systems engineer at ISEL, as well as a member of the Interministerial Commission for Defence and Development (CIDEFO) and of the CEAC-NATO Coordination Committee.
