“Geospace intelligence in support of the decision-making process in the European Union”

Isdefe took part in the webinar on “Geospace intelligence in support of the decision-making process in the European Union”, which was held on Wednesday, 12 May and was organised by the Ministry of Defence’s General Directorate of Armament and Materiel, in concert with the European Union’s Satellite Centre (SatCen) and the Rumanian Ministry of Defence.

The event considered the geospace capabilities and technologies that the European Union will need over the next 5 to 10 years for its decision-making processes.

Jorge Gutiérrez del Olmo y Miguel, an engineer in the Joint Defence Command and Control Office in Isdefe’s Command and Control and Critical Information Systems Department, was tasked with giving a presentation on the new challenges that the geointelligence world will face in coming years as part of the panel discussion on “Geointelligence and the New Technologies”.

The webinar is part of the European Union’s “Strategic Compass” initiative, which will provide guidance in various areas to comply with the goals that emerge from the European Union’s Global Strategy in the areas of security and defence.

Spain is contributing, as are other member states, in areas such as Partnerships, Resilience, Crisis Management and Capability Development.
