Isdefe at the 13th Scientific Gathering of the Spanish Astronomical Society (SEA)

Isdefe, which has considerable experience and know-how in the field of astrophysics and space sciences, took part yet again this year in the congress organised by the Spanish Astronomical Society and which hosted its 13th scientific gathering.

The event, held in Salamanca from 16 to 20 July, brought together most of Spain’s astrophysics community and featured more than 400 professional astronomers.

Over the course of the week, presentations were given that saw debates on the most active topics on the national stage (new instruments, synergies between large projects, education and popularisation, etc.). Six parallel sessions were held, divided by specialities, such as extra-galactic astrophysics, solar physics, planetary sciences and more.

María Beatriz González García, Juan Ángel Vaquerizo Gallego and Ricardo Manuel Pérez Martínez, Isdefe engineers at the European Space Astronomy Centre, took part in two specialised discussions in the area of collaboration with ESA and NASA, as well as in various presentations on projects in which the company’s scientists and engineers are involved as part of their professional activities.

Isdefe offers high value-added engineering and station management services for the operation of space infrastructures in support of space exploration, communications and scientific missions. It provides these services at key space facilities like NASA’s Madrid Deep Space Communications Complex (MDSCC), ESA’s DSA-2 Deep Space Station in Cebreros, Avila, ESA’s European Space Astronomy Centre (ESAC) in Villafranca, Madrid, and the National Institute for Aerospace Technology’s (INTA) Canaries Space Centre in Maspalomas.
