The 16th of November marked the start of the Big Things Data & AI Conference Home Edition, which was held online and that, for two days, became one of the most important gatherings in Europe on data analysis, artificial intelligence, the digital transformation and the cloud.
Isdefe engineers Pedro García and Alberto Uceda, both from the Transport and ICT Department, took part in this event, where they presented the results of the ARETA Project, born of their winning idea at the 4th Edition of Isdefe’s internal programme to gather and manage R&D ideas: “Tokenisation as an asset of polluting emissions in air transport by processing data in near real-time”.
The purpose of the ARETA project on “Aviation Real-Time Emissions Token Accreditation” is to create a technology demonstrator that provides a basis for distributing knowledge and for future initiatives. It is an internal Isdefe R&D project to certify, in real time, the emissions produced by commercial aviation, which are then turned into digital tokens that are managed by a blockchain platform with the application of Big Data technologies. The solution features a cross-sectional Data governance component.
This participation in the Big Things Data & AI Conference Home Edition is a milestone that reflects the outreach capacity of Isdefe’s internal programme to gather and manage R&D ideas, which is spearheaded by the Business Development Department at Isdefe and showcases the entity’s unique characteristic as an innovative company.
