The Isdefe Chair and Alcalá Polytechnic University organise the 6th Conference on Security and Cyber Defence: CIBERSEG19

On the 23rd and 24th of January the Assembly Hall at the University of Alcalá de Henares’ Advanced Polytechnic School hosted said institution’s 6th Conference on Security and Cyber Defence (CIBERSEG19), organised by the Telematic Services Group of the Department of Automatics, and the ISDEFE Cybersecurity Chair, and featuring professors from the Department of Computer Science, along with contingents of students from the School.

Current topics related to Cybersecurity and Cyber Defence, Cloud security, loT ecosystems, and technology in Industry 4.0 were addressed at the conference.

The event was opened by Mr Alberto Hernández Moreno, CEO of INCIBE.

The first talk on the 23rd was given by Sandra Bardón, an Isdefe engineer and expert in Cybersecurity, assigned to NATO's Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence in Tallinn (Estonia), and entitled: "CCDCOE - Highlights & Red Teaming", in the framework of the Locked Shield Cyber Defence exercise, organised by said Centre, and whose main objective is to assess the capacity of technical specialists to prevent, detect, respond to and report the continuous and complex cyber attacks perpetrated.  This was followed by interesting presentations given by different companies and professionals specialised in this sector. 

Finally, on the 24th several workshops related to Cyberintelligence and Intelligence Applied to the Cyberworld were held, including one organised by the ISDEFE Chair on Cybersecurity-UAH: "Pentesting for Fun and Profit".

These activities pursue and meet the objective of strengthening the knowledge and training of university students in the fields of Security and Cyber Defence, as experts from the sector gathered and practical workshops were schedule to combine what has been learned with practice in the areas of Cybersecurity and Cyber Defence.
