Isdefe collaborates with APTIE in the conference on “Toward an R&D Model in the Ministry of the Interior”.

The Association for the Promotion of Strategic Technologies and Industries (APTIE) organised the virtual technical workshop on “Toward an R&D Model in the Ministry of the Interior”, which was held on 5 November.

The conference, which was sponsored by the Ministry of the Interior, featured an agenda that included a study of the current status of R&D in the Ministry of the Interior, the management of short- and medium-term technologies of interest to law enforcement and the armed forces, and the new R&D outlook in Security and Defence nationally and in Europe.

Jesús Alcázar de Federico, Head of Intelligence and Public Safety at Isdefe’s Defence and Security Department, participated in this conference as a speaker at the roundtable on “Defining and Implementing Technologies for Law Enforcement Agencies. The Short-Term Technologies of Interest to Law Enforcement and the Military”, which was moderated by Maite Boyero Egido, Secure Societies Spanish Delegate, Directorate of European Programmes and Regional Cooperation of CDTI. Also present at this roundtable were José Francisco López Sánchez, Head of the Innovation and Development Service at the National Police, Estrella Osa Elvira, Director of Strategic Assets at Telefónica, and Dr Octavio Nieto-Taladriz, ETSIT Professor of Telecommunications at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

Closing out the conference was Enrique Belda Esplugues, Deputy Director of Information and Communications Security Systems (SGSICS-CETSE) at the Ministry of the Interior.
