Isdefe contributes to innovation in the field of aviation

The workshop on “Innovative aviation technologies. The European Clean Sky 2 initiative” was held on 8 February, organised by the Circulo Foundation in concert with the School of Aeronautical and Space Engineering at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

The goal of this event was to report on the main European R&D programmes in the field of aviation, in particular on the Clean Sky 2 Programme, and to analyse the strategies of Spain’s aviation industry and institutions for maintaining their leadership positions in the sector.

Daniel Mosquera Benítez, Isdefe’s Head of R&D, took part in the roundtable on “Innovative technologies in aviation systems”, alongside other distinguished professionals from academia, institutions and industry. The roundtable discussed Isdefe’s experience and how, as a leader in R&D projects on aviation systems and air safety, it has contributed to promoting innovative technologies in the area of safety and security.

Mosquera underscored the efforts of Isdefe’s Horizons Network as an idea laboratory, supported by academic research groups and engaging in technology foresight, analysis and positioning. In particular he noted the work of the Air Navigation Observatory.  Through this initiative, Isdefe enhances knowledge and provides an answer to the Spanish government’s future technology challenges.
