On July 28, 2020, the Supervisory Council of the NATO Communications and Information Organization approved the first Not-For-Profit Framework programme (NFP) with the aim of complementing the cooperation and contracting frameworks between the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) and industry by establishing a new model for cooperation between the NCIA and not-for-profit organisations.
Isdefe is the first entity that has joined this new NCIA programme, signed by the Agency's Director of Acquisition Ms. Jennifer Upton and Isdefe's Director of Business Development Mr. Jesús Alonso on April 20.
Through this enhanced cooperation with non-profit organisations, the Agency will gain greater access to specialised skills, experience and innovation within the Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA), at the same time benefiting from expedited project deliveries.
The NFPFA complements existing industry contracting and cooperation processes and will support the NCIA on its scientific programme, encompassing work, research and development studies, capacity requirements, plans, change management, and the assurance of service and project delivery.
The Agency ensures the integrity of procurement by excluding organisations participating in the NFPF from taking part in any level of Agency procurement targeting industry, and vice versa.
Upon signing this first Agreement within the NFP Framework programme, Jennifer Upton, NCI Agency Director of Acquisition, said: "We are proud to sign the first Not-For-Profit Framework Agreement with ISDEFE. The framework will open up new collaboration horizons with not-for-profit organisations, providing NATO with easier access to the expertise and services of the not-for-profit sector."
Jesús Alonso Martín, Director of Business Development at Ingenería de Sistemas para la Defensa de España (ISDEFE) said: "As the in-house technical service provider for the Spanish Ministry of Defence, being the first organisation to join this NCI Agency brand new NFP Framework is both a motive of honour and satisfaction. Building up on the services we have been providing the Agency over the last few years, we will endeavour to strengthen our support in innovation, capabilities, project services and other areas in the Framework Programme."
The NFP framework programme provides benefits in various aspects and from multiple perspectives, facilitating knowledge exchange with national not-for-profit organizations and access to specialised skills and knowledge, introducing innovative solutions and diversifying the cooperation portfolio for capacity development.
