Isdefe, host of the 4th LogITSys Workshop Meeting of the EDA.

For two days, on 17 and 18 May, Isdefe welcomed at its headquarters professionals from Germany, Austria, France, Portugal and Sweden, as well as representatives from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the Multinational Logistics Coordination Centre (MLCC) and the European Agency Defence (EDA) in order to present the EDA’s “Federal Logistics IT Network” project.

The team from the Logistics Systems Office of Isdefe’s Defence and Security Technologies Department is partnering with the European Defence Agency (EDA) to develop and define an integration platform that allows the logistics systems of different European countries to work together on joint operations.

The workshops dealt with “Logistics Monitoring in Operations. Reception, Staging and Onward Movement (RSOM)”, “Exploring Future Interface Options in ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning)”, “Logistics Functional Area Services (LOGFAS) and National Computer Logistics Applications”, “Chances to Use Track and Trace Capacities in Logistics” and “Aspects of Cybersecurity and Processing Classified Information in Military Logistic Operations”.

We are currently working on issuing (and subsequently analysing in depth) a survey that will provide an overview of logistic computer applications for both the military and commercial logistic operators for the future development of a joint civil/military network of logistic communications networks.

We have experience in the field of Defence logistics, collaborating with Spain’s armed forces from day one to modernise logistic processes. This has resulted in more efficient and effective processes and made us an essential ally for the EDA in this challenge to integrate the logistic systems of multiple EU member states.
