Isdefe, new Forética member

Isdefe has joined the ranks of Forética, a leading and prestigious organisation in the area of sustainability and best corporate practices, in an effort to optimise and invigorate our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy.

Both entities met last January 19 to lay out future partnerships and synergies with a view to this new year, 2017. During the meeting different topics were discussed involving the company’s reputation, ethics, transparency and social commitment.

Isdefe’s Director of Business Development, Jesús María Alonso, noted that “through this partnership, the company is opting to consolidate its responsible management through more exhaustive monitoring of trends in CSR and by supporting strategic alliances in this area in our sector of activity”.

According to Forética’s Managing Director, Germán Granda, Isdefe’s membership in Forética “is a sign of its interest in enhancing the social responsibility aspect of its strategy and work methods. Forética will offer Isdefe innovative solutions to its daily management challenges, while also serving as a hub to relay the knowledge and experience gained from its network of members in Spain and Latin America”.

Isdefe is a state-owned public company created in 1985 and owned by the Ministry of Defence. It is the in-house technical services provider for the Spanish administration in the area of defence and security. Since 2009, when the CSR Unit was created, Isdefe has shown a clear commitment to CSR, incorporating socially responsible criteria into its corporate strategy.

Forética is the leading association for companies and corporate social responsibility professionals in Spain and Latin America. Its mission is to encourage the inclusion of social, environmental and good governance principles into the strategy and management of companies and organisations. It currently has over 200 members. Forética was chosen by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development as its sole representative in Spain, and as such serves as the Spanish Business Council for Sustainable Development. It is also a member of CSR Europe’s Board of Directors.
