Isdefe partners with the 14th Seminar on “Satellites as a Key Element for Security and Defence and Government Applications”

The 14th seminar on “Satellites as a Key Element for Security and Defence and Government Applications” is organised by the Multisector Association of Enterprises in Electronics, Information and Communication Technologies, Telecommunications and Digital Content (AMETIC), and took place from 7 to 9 September in Santander.

Isdefe took part in this event, and participated in two round tables featuring Isdefe's Director of Business Development, Mr Jesús Alonso, and the Director of Space, Ms Rosa Pulido.

Mr Jesús Alonso spoke at the round table on "The National Space Industry. R&D Aspects of Space Defence Programmes", moderated by Mr Pedro A. Fuster González, Deputy Director General of Inspection, Regulation and Industrial Defence Strategy – Directorate General of Armaments and Matériel (DGAM).

For her part, Ms Rosa Pulido participated in the "GNSS-PRS, SST Programmes and the Participation of the National Space Industry" round table moderated by LTC (Army) Conrado Ávila, Head of Space Systems and Cyber Defence in the Programmes SDG of the DGAM.

The seminar was organised into eight round tables featuring representatives of the armed forces and related industry institutions, who presented and debated Spain's space industry from the point of view of government applications.

Admiral (R) Santiago Bolívar, chairman of Hisdesat's board of directors, and Admiral of the Navy Teodoro Esteban, Chief of the Defence Staff, gave the welcoming remarks and opened the seminar.

The Secretary of State for Defence, Ms María Amparo Valcarce, closed this 14th edition of the seminar on satellites by noting that "space has become an important catalyst for transforming international relations in the field of security. This trend is reflected in both the European Union and NATO”.
