Isdefe renews its commitment to the United Nations Global Compact

For the eleventh year in a row, Isdefe has renewed its commitment to adhere to the 10 Principles of the Global Compact and to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) by validating its "Non-Financial Information Status Report" as a COP (Communication on Progress) report and publishing it on the Global Compact website.

This validation certifies our status as a socially responsible company that reports the most notable progress in its contribution to sustainability, and advances in the implementation of measures related to human rights, labour standards, the environment and anti-corruption.

The crisis unleashed by Covid-19 has entailed a radical change worldwide in how we face the future, and poses a challenge, at an institutional and individual level, to regain economic and social progress. In this context, compliance with the 10 Universal Principles of the Global Compact and the contribution to the achievement of the SDGs set by the United Nations 2030 Agenda become a source of inspiration and provide general guidelines to address the recovery, transformation and the economic and social resilience brought about by this pandemic.

Throughout 2020, on a social level, Isdefe undertook numerous initiatives in order to curb the consequences of Covid-19. In this regard, different campaigns were launched to combat the food emergency, fight against the digital divide and educate and promote interest in science among the youngest, especially among girls, to combat the gender gap in science and technology.

In the environmental aspect, Isdefe has opted for the decarbonisation of cities and for cleaner and more sustainable mobility solutions. As a result, Isdefe has contracted its energy from 100% renewable sources, significantly reducing its carbon footprint, and its corporate headquarters have been equipped with electric vehicle charging points for use by Isdefe staff and clients.

In the area of good governance, the company has actively worked to consolidate a culture of ethics, compliance and anti-corruption, continuing its commitment to corporate transparency.

One decade away from the SDG deadline, which has been called the "Decade of Action", the United Nations has highlighted the need to become more ambitious and overcome the great challenges facing humanity: eradicate poverty, fight climate change and end inequality.

Within this framework, Isdefe has responded to the call by participating in the SDG Ambition Programme, an initiative launched by the Spanish Global Compact Network which helps companies transition from commitment to concrete action on the SDGs. Isdefe has also joined the #apoyamoslosODS (#wesupporttheSDG) campaign, which provides a platform to achieve a multiplier effect to advertise and promote the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs.
