Isdefe takes part in the “Not-For-Profit Organizations” panel at the NCI Agency Industry Conference and AFCEA TechNet International (NITEC2018)

The NITEC ’18 event was held from 22 to 24 May in Berlin, organised by the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) and AFCEA TechNet International, with the theme being “NATO’s Digital Endeavour: Expanding the Ecosystem”.

In the current digital era, NATO, allied governments, companies and citizens are seeking to reinforce and adopt new, emerging digital technologies and capabilities. In such a setting, the Agency is working to implement an ecosystem through industry and non-profit organisations that allows working in a way that is more cooperative, effective and flexible.

These industry workshops offer a vision of the emerging technological and cybernetic needs of the Alliance and give direct access to the NCIA programme chiefs and the main actors in the CIS projects that the Agency manages through panels and work sessions.

For the first time this year a specific panel was proposed for non-profit organisations as part of the ecosystem that is being proposed.

Isdefe, as the Ministry of Defence’s in-house technical service provider, was invited to take part in this panel, along with MITRE, TNO and the Czech Technical University. Cesar Pérez, Head of Command and Control Networks and Critical Information systems at Isdefe, explained the creation and mission of Isdefe as a state-owned consulting and engineering company in the area of Defence and Security. He also noted the experience acquired in its collaboration with the NCIA through the “Bi-Strategic Command Automated Information System - Bi-SC AIS” (PMIC) programme office.
