Jesús Alonso appointed Member of the Academy of Military Arts and Sciences

Isdefe’s Director of Business Development, Mr Jesús Alonso, was recently named “Corresponding Member” of the Academy of Military Arts and Sciences (ACAMI).

Born in Valladolid in 1962, Mr Jesús Alonso Martín received his Bachelor’s in Aeronautical Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, his MBA from the Instituto de Empresa (Madrid) and a degree in Business Planning and Administration from the Centre for Business Planning and Administration Studies of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

He began his career in 1988 as a professor in the Escuela Universitaria Politécnica at the Universidad de Valladolid, before, in 1990, joining BDE, a consulting, design engineering and after-sales firm for large systems, where he held various positions before going on to become the company’s Director of Business Development. He joined the company Indra in 1999.

In 2000, he became a Country Manager for Globe Support, a company in the area of new technologies for the Defence and Aeronautical sector, and in 2001, he joined Isdefe, where he has held different posts.

In 2012, he was appointed Isdefe’s Director of Business Development, a post he holds to this day.

The purpose of the ACAMI is to enhance our knowledge of military culture in Spanish society. The academy is a central pillar of the essential support that Spanish society provides to national defence.

The Academy encourages literary, artistic and scientific activities that can help raise the level of military culture, and it partners with other academies in Spain that engage in activities related to culture in their different fields in order to develop, encourage and strengthen the military culture.
