On Friday, 20 January, Spain’s Association of Aeronautical Engineers (COIAE) held a workshop on “Women in management in the aeronautical industry” at the Spanish Institute of Engineering.

Opening the event was Ms Estefanía Matesanz, Dean of Spain’s Association of Aeronautical Engineers. The opening address was given by Ms Isabel Maestre, Director of Spain’s National Aviation Safety Agency.

Both women then joined the roundtable on “The role of women in management in the aeronautical industry”, which discussed women’s experiences in management roles in the aeronautical industry.

Also taking part in this roundtable were Ms Ana María Molina, Depurty Director of Operations at Isdefe, Ms María Ángeles Martí, RFE (Rear Fuselage & Empennage) A350 Programme Director, Airbus, Ms Cristina Cuerno, Professor at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and member of Spain’s Civil Aviation Accident and Incident Investigation Commission, Ms Maria Teresa Busto, Director of the Illescas Plant, Airbus, and Ms Esther Apesteguía, Editor-in-Chief of Fly News.
