Solidarity in an area of operations: “Defeating AIDS in Uganda”

At the end of August the company signed a Partnership Agreement with the NGO CESAL, to promote the project “Defeating AIDS in Uganda. Helping female victims of HIV”, which will provide health care to women in two neighbourhoods surrounding Kampala (Uganda). 

Iasdefe, through its working relationship with Uganda’s Ministry of Health, resulting from the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness’s Debt Swap Programme, is financing this project proposed by an employee, the goal being to show support for a social cause in the local community where the company operates.

The general goal of the programme is to improve the health conditions of women affected by HIV/AIDS in the slums of Kireka and Naguru. The funds provided will make it possible to offer home monitoring for 300 women, as well as retroviral medications for 10 of them. This project is part of a broader comprehensive care programme that combines health and psychosocial care.
