Successful 9th AMETIC seminar comes to a close: “Satellites as a Key Element for Defence and Government Applications”, in cooperation with Isdefe

The latest edition of the seminar “Satellites as a Key Element for Defence and Government Applications”, sponsored by Isdefe, was held in Santander. This seminar on government applications for satellites is among the most important, and featured notable representatives from the Armed Forces, industry and related institutions.

At this forum, Isdefe, as a public company with expertise in aerospace activity, was an active participant, taking part in two roundtables. The first was on the 7th, on Government-to-Government Agreements, in which Álvaro Manresa, Isdefe’s Head of Development, noted the importance of these types of alliances: “GtG agreements are a tool that provides the legal framework for materialising contracts in government settings. They are an expression of the political will of two governments to do business”.

Manresa also underscored the need for these agreements to have strong and effective political support. To achieve this, any commercial activity between government and specialised industry must be proactive, agile and coordinated. GtG agreements are a tool that makes it possible to optimise all of a State’s resources (Defence, Foreign Affairs, industry, financial institutions, etc.)

The second roundtable was on the 8th, on “New Programmes and Markets: Challenges for the Space and Defence Industries”, and it featured Isdefe’s Director of Business Development, Jesús Alonso. During his presentation, he reviewed the current situation of the Defence and Security space industry and the new challenges it must overcome to stay at the cutting edge.

Isdefe, as the Spanish government’s in-house services provider, has extensive experience in the area of satellite communications to meet the needs of military and government clients.
