The project's main objective is the design, configuration and implementation of an Integrated Crisis Management System (SIGE) to respond to environmental pollution of waters from oil spills with a real capability to cooperate in decision making and to optimise the management of the information gathered from pollution events.
The proposed solution integrates different modules or sub-systems: SIGE (Integrated Crisis Management System), SIZ (Zone Integration System), SRM (Remote Mobile System) and SIM (Oil Spill Simulator).
Although each of these modules could be used independently, their integration into a single system offers a more comprehensive and versatile solution for end users and institutions: ports, maritime rescue, civil protection, refineries, environmental agencies, et.
- Real-time information of the crisis situation through communications and maps corresponding to the results of the simulation, models and resources.
- Contribution to crisis management through communications and inputs to the system.
- Analysis tools for use both during and after a crisis.
