On 26 September, a presentation was given at the Isdefe headquarters as part of the “Cyber Security Forum Initiative” CSFI programme, attended not only by Isdefe’s internal staff but by personnel from the Ministry of Defence and the armed forces. This was Isdefe’s second time hosting this Cyberdefence programme, along with this American organisation.

Opening the forum were Jesús Alonso and Jesús Pérez Esteban, Director of Business Development and Director of Human Resources at Isdefe, respectively, and the head of CSFI Training, Paul de Souza.

On 20 September, a conference in the Horizons Network series was held at the Isdefe headquarters on: 2nd Generation Lean Thinking. Jesús Alonso, Director of Business Development at Isdefe, was charged with presenting this forum. Jesús spoke of the importance of being at the cutting edge of Systems Engineering and of Isdefe’s commitment to this endeavour.

He also noted that “we (Isdefe) are proud to be hosting this conference series as a leading company in the Defence and Security sector”.

The latest edition of the seminar “Satellites as a Key Element for Defence and Government Applications”, sponsored by Isdefe, was held in Santander. This seminar on government applications for satellites is among the most important, and featured notable representatives from the Armed Forces, industry and related institutions.

As part of Isdefe’s Horizons Network on technology foresight and innovation, we are starting a series of conferences and workshops to address the main challenges facing governments. Specifically, as part of the work involving Managing Projects on the Horizon of Systems Engineering, we have been advancing toward identifying new methodological approaches that can facilitate the management of projects and programmes.

Isdefe publishes the first edition of the ISDEFE INNOVATION R&D Newsletter. This newsletter describes the main R&D efforts at the organisation for the first half of 2016, and underscores Isdefe’s commitment to research, development and innovation activities.

This newsletter highlights key R&D areas and discusses the results of the ePOOLICE project (led by Isdefe), the Ministry of Defence’s workshop on the H2020 Programme, held at Isdefe, the launch of the Isdefe Horizons Project and the 2nd annual internal call for R&D proposals.
