Isdefe takes part in 55th Army Awards

On 16 November, the Army’s War College hosted the ceremony for the 55th edition of these awards.

Presiding over the gala was the Minister of Defence, Ms María Dolores de Cospedal, and the Army’s Chief of Staff, General Francisco Javier Varela Salas. Attending the event were the Head of the General Directorate for Armaments and Materiel (DIGAM), Lieutenant General Juan Manuel García Montaño, the Head of the Logistical Support Command, Lieutenant General Ramón Pardo de Santayana and other high-ranking civilian and military officials.

The Army has been organising these awards every year since 1945 to promote and disseminate a culture of defence in literature and art.

In this year’s edition, the awards focused on painting in general, fast painting, photography, military miniatures, school teaching and research on humanities and social sciences. The special recognition in this year’s ceremony was presented to the journalist Ángel Expósito Mora for his work supporting the Armed Forces and the Army over the course of his career.

Isdefe took part once again as a partner in the Army Awards, and our CEO, Mr Francisco Quereda Rubio, was charged with presenting the award for Military Miniatures – Figurines to José María García Torres for his work titled “Royal Guard Hunter 1830”.
