Isdefe partners with the Civil Guard Charity Association

This past July 7, the vehicle purchased by the Civil Guard Charity Association, in concert with Isdefe as part of the company’s social action programme, was presented at the Civil Guard headquarters in Granada. 

It is a van that is outfitted with a cutting-edge drone, a pilot and an automatic external defibrillator (AED), which will help prevent the 30,000 deaths from cardiac arrest that take place every year during humanitarian catastrophes.

The summer course on Space Exploration: A Scientific – Technological View was held on 6-7 July at the Universidad de León. This event, which was open to everyone interested in learning about this subject, was attended by over 750 students and was opened by the dean of this university, Juan Francisco García Marín.

Isdefe takes part in the CESEDEN-UPM summer course on “Technological Needs for the Weapons Systems of the Armed Forces”

The course on “Technological Needs for the Weapons Systems of the Armed Forces”, held at CESEDEN, ended on Friday, July 7. The goal of this course was to lay out the areas of research for the design of new equipment platforms for the weapons systems of the Armed Forces that will one day replace those currently deployed.

This programme is supported by the Antonio Remón y Zarco de Valle Chair through an agreement with the UPM and the National Centre for Defence Studies, and sponsored by Isdefe.

The third edition of the international conference on green technology in ports, the Green Energy Ports Conference, was held in Vigo on 27, 28 and 29 June. This event is used to share the latest technologies implemented in ports all over the world and brings together the leading professionals and officials from the maritime – ports industry.

The Green Energy Ports Conference hosts this exchange of knowledge and relies on a philosophy to protect and preserve the environment within the scope of global maritime transport and port logistics.

SYMDEX debate on the importance of new technologies in Defence systems

The fourth edition of the SYMDEX workshops drew to a close on 28 June at the Army’s Polytechnic School. This edition, whose theme was “The cycle of life and new technologies”, focused on the current and future impact that new technologies, like self-diagnostic structures, additive manufacturing, reuse, simulation and industry 4.0 have on the maintenance and modernization of Defence equipment and systems. Numerous experts in logistics from the Ministry of Defence, the Armed Forces and the public sector debated this topic.

Isdefe presents the award for the best doctoral thesis in Defence and Security

The 37th annual awards for the best doctoral thesis, senior-year projects, Master’s projects and best academic record in Telecommunications Engineering were presented this past Friday, June 23rd.

The presentation ceremony was held in the event hall at Spain’s Institute of Engineering, which was opened by the Dean-President of the School of Telecommunications Engineers and President of the Spanish Association of Telecommunications Engineers, Eugenio Fontán Oñate.

On 20 June, Isdefe hosted the 1st Workshop on “Security Technology Foresight”, organised by the University Institute for Research on Internal Security (IUISI), the Civil Guard’s Analysis and Foresight Centre (CAP) and Isdefe.

The opening ceremony was led by the Head of the Civil Guard’s Technical Services Office, Arturo Espejo, Isdefe’s Director of Business Development, Jesús Alonso, and the Director of the IUISI, Fanny Castro Rial.

This initiative, which has previously shown the entrepreneurial spirit of Isdefe’s employees, calls on them to take part in internal innovation, research and development projects.

5th National Congress on Defence and Security R&D (DESEi+d )

The Toledo Infantry Academy will host the 5th edition of the DESEi+d Congress, which will be held from 22 to 24 November. The event, organised by the Directorate General for Armaments and Materiel’s (DGAM) Subdirectorate General for Planning, Technology and Innovation will feature the Directorate General for Military Recruitment and Education (DIGEREM), Isdefe and the Defence University Centres.

1st Workshop on “Security Technology Foresight”

This workshop, organised by the University Institute for Research on Internal Security (IUISI), the Civil Guard’s Analysis and Foresight Centre (CAP) and Isdefe, will be held on 20 June.

The goal of the workshop, which will be held in the Isdefe assembly hall, is to present the approaches taken by the Civil Guard and Isdefe to technology foresight, to raise awareness of the challenges facing us in the area of new technologies, and to present some of the lines of work currently being developed by both organisations.
