Yesterday, 21 November, the book by General Manfredo Monforte Moreno, Programme and Project Management and Systems Engineering, published by the Ministry of Defence, was presented at Isdefe’s headquarters.

This book aims to show its readers the methods, basic tools and principles of project management and systems engineering and is intended for professionals who wish to gain an overview of this discipline, and for supervisors in the field who wish to improve their managerial skills.

On 21 November, from 6 to 7 pm, the book by General Manfredo Monforte Moreno titled Dirección de Programas, Proyectos e Ingeniería de Sistemas and published by the Ministry of Defence, will be presented.

This event will take place in the Isdefe Assembly Hall and will feature Isdefe’s CEO, Mr Francisco Quereda Rubio, and the Managing Director of the Foundation for Defence and Security Technologies, Ms Marisol Martínez Tirado.

Today, 18 November, the 4th National Congress on R&D in Defence and Security concluded at the University Centre for Defence in San Javier. A leading forum in the area of R&D in Defence and Security, this fourth edition of the congress was well received by the leading actors in the Defence and Security industry. Formally closing the Congress was Vice-Admiral Jesús Manrique Braojos, Assistant Director of Planning, Technology and Innovation at the Ministry of Defence.

Yesterday, 16 November, the 4th National Congress on R&D in Defence and Security (DESEI+D) began at the University Centre for Defence in San Javier. This gathering has already, in its fourth edition, become a benchmark for R&D in Defence and Security, bringing together academia, institutions and companies from the industry.

The 4th National Congress on R&D in Defence and Security (DESEi+d 2016) will be held at the San Javier University Centre for Defence from November 16th to the 18th. Since its inception the Congress has enjoyed the support of the Ministry of Defence’s General Directorate for Armaments and Materiel (DGAM), and Isdefe, too, has sponsored and been involved with the Congress since its first edition.

As part of the technology foresight programme that Isdefe and Fraunhofer INT are developing for the European Defence Agency (EDA), a seminar was held on 18 October to identify the new materials that the armed forces will be using by 2050.

The Official Association of Aeronautical Engineers (COIAE) is holding a conference on airport management on Friday, 4 November at the Spanish Institute of Engineering. Under the theme “Airport Management. Models for Success”, it will debate the efficiency of airport business models.

The 20th Workshop of the Enaire Foundation’s Aeronautical Historical Studies begins today.

The Secretary of State for Infrastructure, Transport and Housing, Julio Gómez-Pomar, is opening the workshop. Under the slogan “Remotely-piloted aircraft: from UAVs to drones”, this gathering will bring together professionals, institutions and academics from the aviation industry from October 25th to the 27th.

The Cíirculo Foundation is holding the 17th Workshop on Defence and Security Technologies at the auditorium of the Museo Casa de la Moneda on 25 and 26 October. Under the slogan “Smart Defence and Security. Technologies and Systems for the Digital Transformation”, this workshop aims to describe and analyse those smart technologies in this sector that our country should commit to.

The 6th National Congress of the Technical Association of Ports and Coasts is being held in Palma de Mallorca from October 19th to the 21st. This initiative is sponsored by Spain’s Ports of the State and by the port authorities of the Balearic Islands, Barcelona, La Coruña, Motril, Seville and Tenerife, as well as by leading companies in the industry.
