“ISDEFE in the Aerospace Sector” technical conference at UC3M

On Friday, 8 February, Isdefe’s Space Director, from the Space and Technology Centres Department, Ms Rosa Pulido, took part in a series of technical conferences at the Advanced Polytechnic School of the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M), titled “ISDEFE in the Aerospace Sector”.

During the conference, Rosa Pulido gave a presentation on Isdefe and the main activities it carries out for the space industry, detailing the work that is done at the various space centres in Maspalomas, Torrejón and Cebreros; the activities involving the European Galileo satellite navigation system (GNSS); the support given to the National Institute for Aerospace Technology (INTA) as the Competent Public Regulated Service (PRS) Authority; remote sensing activities, like the ESA’s environmental mission (SMOS); and astrophysics and space sciences activities.

Finally, she spoke about the innovation activities at Isdefe, like the Horizons Network, which comprises a set of six observatories, including the Space Observatory that features the UC3M Isdefe Space Chair. She also noted Isdefe’s involvement in international R&D projects, co-financed or in a consortium with other European entities (H2020, Sesar Joint Undertaking, Preparatory Action on Defence Research).

The Advanced Polytechnic School offers students a series of technical conferences that allow them to earn ECTS credits and makes it possible for them to have direct contact with prestigious speakers boasting a proven track record in the business world.
