In light of the high added value that R&D activity provided to Isdefe in the first quarter of 2015, the Business Development Department invited all company employees to submit ideas for new Research and Development projects.

Mr. Jesús Alonso, Director of Business Development at Isdefe, presented the award sponsored by Isdefe for “Promoting Aeronautical Culture” at the gala for the 38th Air Force Awards.

The recipient was Mr. Antonio Szigriszt Laca, the Director of Radio Exterior de España which, by broadcasting programmes like “Altos Vuelos” and “Radas 3.0”, has helped to spread the culture of aviation, and of defence in general.

To celebrate the launch in 2015 of the Spanish Systems Engineering Platform, backed by Isdefe, and the signing of a partnership agreement between Isdefe and the Norwegian Institute of Systems Engineering this past June 17th, an internal workshop was held in the Isdefe lecture hall to promote the Systems Engineering platform.

The event featured Mr. Jesús Alonso, Director of Business Development at Isdefe, who reviewed the history of Systems Engineering, analysing its tremendous importance to Isdefe and highlighting the company’s indisputable leadership in the discipline.

The 12th edition of Madrid Polytechnic University’s summer courses was launched this month at the school’s administration building.  As a part of this programme, and as in previous years, Isdefe is partnering with the UPM to organise and run the course on: “European Union Space Programmes: Galileo, Copernicus and SSA (Space, Situational Awareness)”, which will be held next 11 and 12 July in Real Sitio de San Ildefonso (La Granja- Segovia)

Isdefe hosted at its headquarters the 4th Workshop on Security Foresight, “Building the Future”, organised by the Civil Guard’s Analysis and Foresight Centre (CAP) in concert with the University Institute for Research on Domestic Security (IUISI). The event took place in the Isdefe Conference Hall on 14, 15 and 16 June.

The workshop began with opening remarks by Isdefe’s Director of Business Development, who underscored the importance of foresight as a discipline in our society. He was followed by the Director of the IUISI, Ms. Fanny Castro-Rial.
