1st Workshop on “Security Technology Foresight”

On 20 June, Isdefe hosted the 1st Workshop on “Security Technology Foresight”, organised by the University Institute for Research on Internal Security (IUISI), the Civil Guard’s Analysis and Foresight Centre (CAP) and Isdefe.

The opening ceremony was led by the Head of the Civil Guard’s Technical Services Office, Arturo Espejo, Isdefe’s Director of Business Development, Jesús Alonso, and the Director of the IUISI, Fanny Castro Rial.

The workshop featured representatives from the Ministry of the Interior, the National Police Force, the Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime Intelligence Centre (CITCO), the Civil Guard’s University Centre, the National Intelligence Centre, the Ministry of Defence’s General Sub-Directorate for Planning, Technology and Innovation (SDG PLATIN), regional police forces, professors in the Horizons Network, representatives from the Centre for Technological Industrial Development (CDTI), and Isdefe personnel from various departments.

In keeping with the event’s technology foresight theme, the workshop featured discussions on technology mapping, technology as a disruptive force, new technological capabilities and initiatives, and efficiency from the systematic integration of capabilities.

The final roundtable dealt with experience and best practices, and its speakers were the representative of the Civil Guard’s Technical Services Office and the head of Isdefe’s R&D Department.
The workshop was closed out by José María Blanco, Director of the Civil Guard’s Analysis and Foresight Centre, and Álvaro Manresa, Isdefe’s Head of Business Development.
