2019 and 2020 Telecommunications Engineering Awards.

The 2019 and 2020 editions of the Telecommunications Engineering Awards, presented by the Official College of Telecommunications Engineers and the Spanish Association of Telecommunications Engineers, were presented this Friday, 26 November.

In both editions, Isdefe sponsored the award for the Best Doctoral Thesis in Security and Defence, which, for 2019, was presented to Mr Federico Antonio García Rial from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, for his thesis on “Technological Contributions to Imaging Radars in the Millimeter-wave Band”, supervised by Mr Jesús Grajal de la Fuente.

The 2020 edition of the Best Doctoral Thesis in Security and Defence was won by Mr Óscar Araque Iborra of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, for his thesis titled “A Distributional Semantics Perspective of Lexical Resources for Affect Analysis: An Application to Extremist Narratives”, advised by Mr Enrique Vázquez Gallo, Director of the Computer Systems Engineering Department at the Advanced School for Telecommunications Engineering.

The awards were presented to the two winners by the Director of Isdefe’s Business Strategy Department, Mr Lluís Vinagre Solans.
