Creation of the Isdefe “Antonio Torres” R&D Award as part of the National Congress on R&D in Defence and Security (DESEI+D)

Isdefe has been working with the Ministry of Defence for four years on organising the National Congress on R&D in Defence and Security (DESEI+D).

This congress brings together the main players in the area of R&D in Defence and Security. This 4th Congress, sponsored by the General Directorate for Armaments and Materiel’s (DGAM) Sub-Directorate for Planning, Technology and Innovation, will be held from 16 to 18 November at the University Centre for Defence in San Javier (Murcia).

This year’s event is special for Isdefe, since it is the first time the Isdefe “Antonio Torres” R&D Award will be presented, thus continuing Isdefe’s commitment to excellence in innovation by supporting cutting-edge experts and projects in this area. The Award will recognise the best project or work presented in each edition of this National Congress. Its goal is to promote the culture of participation, cooperation and coordination in the area of R&D in Defence and Security.

With this award, Isdefe also wishes to remember and honour the memory and work of Antonio Torres Díaz-Malaguilla, an engineer who in the last phase of his 28 years of service to Isdefe was a great proponent of research and development at Isdefe, actively cooperating in the creation of the National R&D Congress.
