Experts in military satellites and government applications gather at the 10th Satellite Seminar in Santander

The 10th Seminar will be held on 6, 7 and 8 September under the theme “Satellites as a key component for security and defence in government applications”. This seminar is being organised by Ametic in concert with Hisdesat.

The growing needs and requirements of the Armed Forces in recent years requires new approaches and strategies in Defence and Security, and the exchange and sharing of new ideas in space R&D, both by Spain’s space industry and the government. Within this context, the goal of the seminar is to share know-how and offer new solutions and services to governments and to the Armed Forces to help them fulfil their missions. New in this Seminar are the technical sessions and practical examples from both academia and industry, which will allow attendees to learn first-hand of specific experiences in this subject.

Participants include DGAM, EMACOM, CESAEROB, SEGENPOL, CESTIC, INTA, CCN, MCCD, EMAD, Civil Protection, the Civil Guard and other organisations like EDA and NATO, as well as representatives from Spain’s universities and industry.

Isdefe has ample experience in the development and implementation of new satellite applications in the field of satellite navigation and communications to meet public sector needs in both military applications and in critical areas like air navigation.

On this occasion, Isdefe’s participation will be handled courtesy of our CEO, Francisco Quereda Rubio, at the roundtable on “Challenges to the defence space industry in the 12th Legislature”, and Óscar Pastor Acosta, Head of Security and Critical Infrastructure, at the roundtable on “Cyberspace: New domain for military operations”.

The closing ceremony for the Seminar will take place on Friday, 8 September, and will feature the Secretary of State for Defence, Mr Agustín Conde Bajén.
