The Military Emergencies Unit (UME) has been deployed since the start of the current COVID-19 health crisis as part of #OperaciónBalmis. Active throughout Spain, the UME is taking part in this operation with personnel and resources from all of its units, with its main tasks involving enforcement, disinfection and logistical support.
Isdefe has partnered with the UME from the outset, providing maintenance and logistical support during the various emergencies that the UME has encountered. Of particular importance during this emergency is the support that Isdefe’s Maintenance Office has provided in three key areas: first, logistical management and cataloguing of material; second, analysis and minimisation of the impact that corrosion has on the UME’s hydraulic equipment and machinery due to the use of disinfecting materials; and third, the maintenance and development of the unit’s logistical control software.
