Isdefe participates in the presentation of the 2016 Army Awards

Isdefe, along with other important companies in the industry, took part yet again this year in the Army Awards, one of which was presented by Isdefe’s Director of Business Development, Mr. Jesús Alonso. 

The event, presided over by the Acting Minister of Defence, Mr. Pedro Morenés, was attended by the Secretary of State for Defence, Mr. Pedro Arguelles Salaverría, the Asst. Secretary of Defence, Ms. Irene Domínguez Alcahud, Head of the Defence Staff, Admiral Fernando García Sánchez, the Army Chief of Staff, General Jaime Domínguez Buj, the Air Force Chief of Staff, General Francisco Javier García Arnaiz, and the Navy Chief of Staff, Admiral Jaime Muñoz-Delgado y Díaz del Rio, along with other leading officials. 

The 54th Army Awards Gala was held on June 9 at the Buenavista Palace, which is the current headquarters of the Army.

At this year’s event  the Army, which has been presenting its awards annually since 1945 to promote and spread literature and art, sought to commemorate the Army’s bicentenary at the Buenavista Palace, and the 400th anniversary of the death of the greatest writer in Spanish history: Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra. The ceremony featured awards for Schooling, Painting, Military Miniatures, Photography and Humanities & Social Science Research.

Of note was the special award presented by the Army Chief of Staff to renowned writer Mr. Alfonso Ussía Muñoz-Seca for the support he has shown to the armed forces through his endeavours as a writer, journalist and speaker, which have served to furnish society with an objective and accurate portrayal of the Army’s activities.
