The fourth edition of the “Youth Mediterranean Dialogue” was organised by the Spanish Youth Atlantic Council (COAJE), youth delegation of the Spanish Atlantic association, and featured the support of the NATO Youth Atlantic Treaty Association (YATA), in concert with Spain’s Ministry of Defence and Isdefe.

“The Youth Mediterranean Dialogue” draws its inspiration from the “1994 Mediterranean Dialogue”. Young people from over 20 nations got together in Madrid from 10 to 17 September to debate defence and security and listen to important political and military figures, who are experts in the area of Defence and Security. They attended informational training lectures and formed working groups, and they also visited the Centre for Advanced National Defence Studies (CESEDEN) and military bases like El Goloso and MACOM.

Isdefe supports this event, helping generations of young people to work together for peace and stability.

César Pérez Vázquez, head of the Command and Control Networks and Critical Information systems at Isdefe’s Defence and Security Department, opened the session on 11 September with a presentation on “NATO Digital Transformation: Programme Management Aspects”, which addressed the impact that the digital transformation will have on the technology in NATO systems and on the programme implementation and management processes that the Alliance uses to obtain new capabilities.
