“Isdefe takes part in “The 6TH Annual Airborne ISR & C2 Battle Management conference”.

Now in its sixth year, the international Airborne ISR & C2 Battle Management Conference was held in London. This conference has a solid reputation among leaders in the airborne intelligence and command and control communities. The purpose of the event is to strengthen alliances, share strategic objectives and generate trust to improve global intelligence and the command and control infrastructures for air, space and cybernetic systems.

Mr César Pérez, Head of Command and Control Networks and Critical Information Systems at Isdefe’s Defence and Security Office, delivered a presentation on "Cyber and Digital Transformation: Management Aspects" and took part in the panel on “Building Network Resilience, Cyberspace Manoeuvrability & Situational Awareness”.

Isdefe’s presentation dealt with the application of disruptive technologies in cyber and the digital transformation, an area that could revolutionise Command, Control and ISR capabilities and yield the desired outcome of superiority in information. However, for this to happen, agile methods must be adopted involving aspects for governing technological investment, procurement procedures, programme management and that involve operational users in the implementation of new capabilities. Only then will the new disruptive technologies be adopted in time, before they become commonplace. Both NATO and various nations are attempting to modernise their procedures, but there is still no commonly accepted solution for this need.

This event brought together delegates from various NATO countries who discussed concepts such as the “decisional advantage” for the entire spectrum of conflicts, with an emphasis on the changing nature of the “OODA Loop” theory (cycle made by the Observe, Orient, Decide and Act system) at a time of emerging disruptive technologies.
