Isdefe takes part in Air Force’s 2nd Aerospace Workshop

Isdefe was present at the Air Force’s 2nd Aerospace Workshop on terrorism in aerospace, which began on 6 May with an open house at the Museum of Aeronautics and Astronautics, at the Cuatro Vientos Air Base, followed by consecutive events on 9, 10 and 12 May.

As part of the Aerospace Technology Workshop, Óscar Pastor, Security Manager at Isdefe, was involved in the roundtable on Tuesday, 10 May on the “Use and protection of satellite resources against terrorism”, with a presentation titled “Protecting Galileo satellites, communication links and ground stations”.  This event, held at the School of Aeronautics and Space (ETSIAE), was inaugurated by Air Force’s Chief of Logistical Support, Lt. Gen. José María Orea, and the President of the UPM, Guillermo Cisneros, and was attended by important representatives from academia and the government, like the Director of the ETSIAE, Javier Crespo, and the Director of Research at the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, Marina Villegas.

As part of the Technology Workshop on 12 May, Alvaro Manresa Sánchez, Head of Business Development at Isdefe, took part in a roundtable on “New terrorist threats” with a presentation titled “Measures for counteracting the use of drones with terrorist intent and the state of the art in technology”.

This presentation was given to experts and VIPs from the Ministry of Defence and Spain’s Air Force, as well as to leading companies in the sector. The event, which was held at the headquarters of the Air Force, was brought to a close by the Air Force Chief of Staff, Francisco Javier García Arnaiz.
