Isdefe takes part in the CESEDEN-UPM summer course on “Technological Needs for the Weapons Systems of the Armed Forces”

The course on “Technological Needs for the Weapons Systems of the Armed Forces”, held at CESEDEN, ended on Friday, July 7. The goal of this course was to lay out the areas of research for the design of new equipment platforms for the weapons systems of the Armed Forces that will one day replace those currently deployed.

This programme is supported by the Antonio Remón y Zarco de Valle Chair through an agreement with the UPM and the National Centre for Defence Studies, and sponsored by Isdefe.

This year’s edition focused on the weapons programmes that Spain’s Armed Forces are already using and their link to the technological needs that form part of the Strategy for Defence Technology and Innovation (ETID).

This gathering saw debates on command and control systems, cyber security, simulation, intelligence collection and processing systems and the PAZ observation satellite, designed by Spain for military use, which provided an overview of defence systems and of policies to encourage their development.

In addition to being a sponsor, Isdefe took part in the event through the talk given by Guillermo González Muñoz de Morales, Head of the Consulting and Strategic Management Process Department’s Technology Foresight Office, and then by Jesús Alonso Martín, Director of Business Development at Isdefe, during the closing ceremony.
