Isdefe takes part in the Interior Ministry technical workshops on the use of drones

Isdefe will take part in the technical workshops on the use of drones organized by the National Security Office (NSO) of the Ministry of the Interior and by the Airport Chair supported by the ENAIRE Foundation, in cooperation with the UNED, through the University Institute for Research on Domestic Security (IUISI).

The event, being held over two days on 5 and 6 April, will bring together experts and specialists from national security and police forces, as well as representatives from companies and industry associations like AERPAS and TEDAE, to provide a multidisciplinary approach to the use of remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS), or drones.

The first day of the workshop was held at the Ministry of the Interior and inaugurated by the Director of the Coordination and Studies Department at the NSO, Mr. Diego Pérez de los Cobos Orihuel, the Director of the IUISI, Ms. Fanny Castro-Rieal Garrone, and the Managing Director of Civil Aviation, Mr. Raúl Medina Caballero.

The day’s discussions focused on the new regulations, the possibilities of its use by the national security and police forces and the threats that RPAS bring to public safety.

The second day of activities, which will be held at Isdefe’s facilities, will be inaugurated by the Director of Business Development, Mr. Jesús Alonso Martín, and by the Director of the IUISI, Ms. Fanny Castro-Rial Garrone. The day’s topics will include the current situation in terms of civilian use and research in this area, and the current situation in the industry. This second discussion will be moderated by Isdefe’s Head of Development, Mr. Álvaro Manresa Sánchez.

Concluding the workshop will be some words of appreciation from Isdefe’s CEO, Mr. Francisco Quereda Rubio, followed by the closing remarks, offered by the head of the Ministry of the Interior’s National Security Office, Mr. Francisco Martínez Vázquez.
