Isdefe takes part in the opening of the “Air of History” exhibit

The opening ceremony for the permanent “Air of History” exhibit and the monument to the Mirage F-1 aircraft was held on Friday at the Villaviciosa Castle in Odón, home of the Historical Service of the Air Force.

The Air Force Chief of Staff, General Francisco Javier García Arnaiz, presided over the event, accompanied by the head of the Air Force’s Historical and Cultural Service, Division General Pablo Gómez Rojo, the Director of the Institute of Aeronautical History and Culture, Brigadier General Santos Senra Pérez, and several military and civilian officials, including the mayor of Villaviciosa de Odón, Mr José Jover, and the Assistant Director of Publications and Heritage of the Ministry of Defence, Ms Margarita García Moreno.

Present at the event were Isdefe’s Director of Operations, Mr José Manuel Hesse, the Assistant Director of Operations, Ms Ana María Molina and the Head of Marketing, Ms María Jesús Olmedo. Through its cooperation with the permanent “Air of History” exhibit, Isdefe confirms its commitment to disseminating and researching Spain’s past and present aeronautical and astronautical culture.

This new collaboration is in addition to other Isdefe initiatives to disseminate this culture, like the presentation of the Air Force Awards, the Aerospace Week, the “Women Managers in the Aeronautical Industry” workshop and the series of conferences at the Polytechnic University’s schools of aeronautics, among others.
