Isdefe takes part in the Summer Courses at Madrid Polytechnic University (UPM)

The 12th edition of Madrid Polytechnic University’s summer courses was launched this month at the school’s administration building.  As a part of this programme, and as in previous years, Isdefe is partnering with the UPM to organise and run the course on: “European Union Space Programmes: Galileo, Copernicus and SSA (Space, Situational Awareness)”, which will be held next 11 and 12 July in Real Sitio de San Ildefonso (La Granja- Segovia)

The course will cover Europe’s main space programmes, Galileo (satellite navigation system), Copernicus (Earth-observation system and special services) and SSA (Space Situational Awareness). It will also consider the European Union’s goal to enhance space research through its Horizon 2020 programme.

The course will feature prominent lecturers who are directly involved in developing the programmes, as well as officials from the Ministry of Defence and the CDTI. These include: Juan Carlos Cortés, Director of International Programmes at CDTI; Javier Ventura-Traveset, spokesman for the European Space Agency in Spain; Antonio de la Fuente, Head of Operations for SMOS and SWARM; Ardani Medina, Head of Operations at EUMETSAT; GianMaria Pinna, S3T Project Manager at the ESA; and a representative from the Programme Management Office at the Ministry of Defence.

Isdefe’s CEO, Francisco Quereda Rubio, and the Managing Director of CDTI, Francisco Marín Pérez, will deliver the opening remarks for the course.
