Isdefe takes part in the third edition of the Green Energy Ports Conference

The third edition of the international conference on green technology in ports, the Green Energy Ports Conference, was held in Vigo on 27, 28 and 29 June. This event is used to share the latest technologies implemented in ports all over the world and brings together the leading professionals and officials from the maritime – ports industry.

The Green Energy Ports Conference hosts this exchange of knowledge and relies on a philosophy to protect and preserve the environment within the scope of global maritime transport and port logistics.

Isdefe took part in this event with a presentation on Observatory on Directive 94/2014/EU Implementation in relation to the LNG market in the Maritime Transport, as part of a roundtable on Core Network Corridors and Liquefied Natural Gas: CORE LNGas Hive, which was held on Wednesday, 28 June.

Directive 94/2014/EU lays out the creation of an infrastructure for alternatives to petroleum- derived fuels, such as natural gas and biomethane, including synthetic methane. The European policy, supported by the Clean Power Transports (CPT), acknowledges the key role of these fuels in maritime transport. In keeping with this regulation, European Union member states will have to develop a plan to set up a network of service stations for vehicles in cities, ports and all along the trans-European transport network (RTE-T).

Sara Blanco Monge, from Isdefe’s Consulting and Strategic Management Processes Direction, delivered this conference. Sara is a systems engineer and has been involved in managing strategic and innovative projects to diversify energy in maritime transport. She has also taken part in energy efficiency projects at the ports of Tenerife, Melilla, Palma de Mallorca and Algeciras.
